As certified practitioners in the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI), we are excited about combining the power of the whole brain model with our own nine roles to create workshops and individual coaching in The Nine Roles of the Whole Brain Leader.

Participating clients would complete the Leading Edge Portrait and the HBDI. As our client we arrange for you to take the HBDI on-line on their site. Results would be reported to show the standard outcomes of these two assessment instruments as well as the insights gained from the combination of the two instruments. With the results from these two instruments we are able to focus on specific skill building practices that would lead to increased leadership effectiveness.
The major benefit of the combination of the two models is to see the nine roles in a systematic, consistent, and complete structure. The whole brain model addresses four distinctive thinking styles in the way that people engage with the world that can be simplistically and briefly summarized as:

We value the approach taken by Herrmann International to these thinking styles as their perspective mirrors ours. People do differ in their preferences and it is possible, and desirable, to develop capability in those styles for which there are low preferences in order to increase one's effectiveness in widely varying situations.
With these four thinking styles we identify specific issues that must be addressed in order to gain full mastery of the role. The key issues for each of these four thinking styles as applied to each of the nine roles is summarized in the first table below. This table is followed by a second one that provides common association patterns between role preferences and thinking style preferences.
The third table that follows is an example of the material we use for each of the roles. For the mentor role this table shows the approach taken to that role from the perspective of the different thinking styles. In working with clients we identify specific skills for each of the thinking style preferences that must be developed for an individual to achieve full role mastery by becoming a whole brain leader.
